Overview

The Intermountain Division is the fourth largest division of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and its sister organization, the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI). Our main purpose is to advance snow sports through the education and certification of instructors in the disciplines of Alpine, Nordic, Children and Adaptive skiing as well as Snowboarding.

Member Services

As a member of PSIA/AASI -Intermountain, you receive many member benefits and services to enhance your professional career. In keeping with our innovative tradition, PSIA-Intermountain-AASI has provided this website as another tool to further provide effective communication with you, the membership.

How to become a member

Determine which ski area you would like to be employed by as an instructor. PSIA divisions can help you determine which areas in your geographic area are PSIA members.

Contact the appropriate PSIA division office to receive a membership application.

Once you have filled out the appropriate paperwork and have paid your dues, you are considered to be a registered member of PSIA.

If you choose to, you may participate in training programs offered by your area and division to achieve a Level I certification. Through these programs, you will learn snow sport teaching fundamentals to prepare you for Level I certification exam.

Amnesty Policy

The Division will provide a form of amnesty to members who have lapsed membership longer than four (4) years.  The lapsed member will submit to the office a written request expressing their interest in returning to the Division.  The member shall pay the current year’s dues, attend two (2) required clinics approved by the Discipline Managers and Chairpersons and fall back one level from previously held discipline certifications.  All fees will be paid up-front.  This will be a one-time offer for Intermountain members only.
