1. Complete entry level training at your affiliated Snowsports School, or attend a Level 1 Telemark or Track Assessment. (Entry level training is included; 6 hrs required on tele gear for Level 1 telemark, 6hrs on skating and classic skis required for Level 1 Track).

2. Submit to PSIA-I: membership application & authorized evaluation sheet (your snowsports director/trainer/examiner will sign these documents) .


To become a Level I Certified Instructor:

1. Complete the following: (turned in 2 weeks prior to assessment)

2. Attend Level I Telemark or Track assessment. (check calendar for dates, locations and times; 6 hrs required on tele gear for Level 1 telemark, 6hrs on skating and classic skis required for Level 1 Track).

To become a Level II Certified Instructor:

1. Level 1 Telemark or Track certified instructors begin the level 2 certification by attending a prep clinic within one calendar year prior to attending a level 2 assessment.

2. Level 2 alpine certified instructors may attend a level 2 telemark or track assessment at any time; level 2 tele or track certification is obtained after passing this assessment.

3. Attend and pass a level 2 telemark or track assessement. This is a two day exam, during which candidates must pass the on snow portion and a written test, covering Skiing, Teaching and Mechanics.

To become a Level III Certified Instructor :

1. Level 2 Telemark or Track certified instructors begin the level 3 certification by attending a prep clinic within one calendar year prior to attending a level 3 assessment.

2. Level 3 alpine certified instructors may attend a level 3 telemark or track assessment at any time; level 3 tele or track certification is obtained after passing this assessment
