A native of Colorado, Stephen defected to Utah in 1996. He has been an employee at Alta’s Alf Engen Ski School for 12 years. He fills several roles there including: ski instruction, staff training, program development and Dir. and Head Coach of the Alta Freeride Division, a jr. competitive big mt. ski team. Last spring, he was also one of 24 finalists for the PSIA National Alpine Team.
During summer months Stephen is rarely found at home. He works in various realms of the outdoor industry. He has coached at Mt. Hood’s Timberline Summer Ski Camps, taught whitewater kayaking for Otterbar Kayak Lodge, is an instructor for The National Outdoor Leadership School and guided mountain and road bike trips for Western Spirit Cycling Adventures.
