Board Notes

At the June Board meeting, the Board recognized and thanked outgoing members and welcomed new/returning members Carl Boyer, Nick Maricich, Shannon Schiner, Colter Tucker, and Erika Voorhees. Your newest representatives have already jumped in to promote your interests and our growth. Kristen Lane was elected as the new Communications Vice President.

The board worked on various budget possibilities as we plan for multiple scenarios for the upcoming season. While we hope to have a full calendar of on-snow events, we are also planning for the possibility that resorts will have restricted operations. We understand the some of our members may prefer to stay distanced and we will offer more online educational opportunities.

Member School Shoutouts

Change at the Top

Alta and Deer Valley are both losing their long-time Snowsports School/Skier Services Directors. David (Hoopa) Robinson retired from Alta in May, and John Guay is leaving Deer Valley this month.

John wrote to us:
"I feel truly fortunate to have had a rewarding career, raise a family and build life-long relationships in the ski industry. PSIA-I has been a huge part of my professional life and has provided opportunities for personal growth and development that have shaped my career. It all began for me in the mid 1970's at Park West Resort so have attached a photo from that era with a few familiar faces."

I know we will still see both John and Hoopa on the slopes. Thank you both for all you have done for PSIA-AASI and for the industry!
