Karin Sieber » Alpine DECL Team

The Alpine DECL (Division Education and Clinic Leader) team is a group of highly trained instructors who are responsible for running the various Alpine clinics and assessments that the Division offers.

Karin Sieber

Biography

Karin moved to Jackson after attaining her B.S. in Geology at St. Lawrence University.  Originally from the Detroit area of Michigan, Karin’s life-long dream was to move to the mountains of the west.  She moved to Jackson in 2000 just one month after graduating from SLU.

With Division 1 Ice Hockey, Division 3 Field Hockey, and guiding for the Outdoor Program under her belt from St. Lawrence, it was inevitable that Karin would become a ski instructor at the most challenging mountain resort in the country.

Karin has been an instructor at JHMR since December of 2000.  She is a current Level 3 certified instructor, a DECL, coach of the Steep and Deep Camps, Women’s Camps, and new hire Instructor Training Courses.

Why Do You Work in the Ski Industry: I can not imagine doing anything more fulfilling. I absolutely love my ski career. Too bad winter is not longer!!

What Else Do You Enjoy Doing Besides Skiing:
Karin also enjoys playing ice hockey for the Jackson Hole Women’s Hockey team, a co-ed rec league hockey team, water skiing, soccer, hiking, and playing in the mountains with her horses. The joy of Karin’s life are her husband and 2 year old son.
