Fall2015Final-1
by Kim Prebish, PSIA-AASI Intermountain Communications V.P.

Intermountain is changing with the times! As the world of communication moves in leaps and bounds we are working to keep in touch with you efficiently and effectively.

For decades we have used The Edge, as the way we get information to you, our members. But many of you have told us that in the newly paperless world, you would rather hear from us in different ways. We are ready to take on the challenge! This digital Edge will be our last. Look out for our new email posts: Face Shots in your inbox soon. Face Shots will keep you notified of upcoming events, elections, scholarships and good news.

Summertime in the Intermountain Division brings activities outside our work as instructors.  We head into the season biking, camping, fishing, and working at our “other” professions.  The crowds and warm weather take our minds off the skiing and riding that we’ve all been doing since December. However, just because we are reaching for our t-shirts instead of warm jackets, we have NOT forgotten about PSIA/AASI. We are collecting our thoughts and regaining our strength. This strength comes from behind the scenes planning and discussions.

We hope you will be there to kick this season off in style, December 15-16. This year we will offer clinics in most disciplines, so check out the offerings and get a head start of the season! In this article you can find a list of the clinic topics that will be available this winter.

Great news! PSIA/AASI Intermountain has the honor to call one of our own the proud recipient of this National award. The award is presented to members pursuing Level III certification. It recognizes individuals who score at the highest percentile in skiing/snowboarding, teaching and technical knowledge; and who empower other candidates during the exam process. Candidates must display exceptional compassion and understanding for the needs of others, which results in a more positive examination environment.

Chantry R. Marble is this year’s recipient. He is the first intermountain member to receive this award. He is also the first Snowboarder.

Did you take an Exam or Accreditation and pass?

CONGRATULATIONS are in order…

PSIA/AASI Intermountain wants to congratulate all the successful candidates who passed their certifications and accreditations. This is a huge step in your careers and you are stronger for your efforts. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication.

As Yoda would say, “Pass on, what you have learned…”

In this article is a list of all the members who passed their exams:

One of the proudest moments for a ski/snowboard instructor might be when they are recognized by their resort as an Instructor of the Year.

In this article, we’re thrilled to present this winter’s Instructors of the Year at our member schools.

In this article, we’d like to recognize the many members that have devoted huge parts of their life to this amazing profession. We have listed here the members who are celebrating their 20th, 30th, 40th, and 50th years with PSIA/AASI Intermountain. Thank you for all of support over the years, and we hope you have many more great years of teaching snowsports!

We’d like to thank the many people and organizations that donated items to be sold at the Spring Clinic Silent Auction this past winter. All of the proceeds from the auction are used for the PSIA-AASI Intermountain Scholarship fund, allowing some members to take clinics at no cost.

In this article is a list of the generous donors. Thank you for your support!
